Veteran musician, Dada Kwaku Duah, known by his stage name Dada KD, is worried about the interpersonal relationships among Highlife musicians.
The Highlife artist states that there is no love among his colleagues in Ghana.
He has bemoaned the lack of unity and prayed that the situation changes soon.
Dada KD stressed that the lack of unity is affecting the progress of the genre across the world.
“We don’t love ourselves as highlife musicians. We don’t collaborate among ourselves,” he stated on Today’s Radio.
“Everybody has his or her playmate and that doesn’t mean there is unity among us. It is like that everywhere but becoming a united force would have helped,” Dada KD added.
He likened the relationship of highlife musicians in the country to that of a forest—which the trees look like they are together until you enter to know that every tree is standing on its own.
Dada KD also claimed that some industry players within the Highlife space have sabotaged his career.
